Foodie Friday #3 – Mmmm GREEN.

I honestly did not plan anything for this week’s food post. I am such a slacker. It always comes to mind a few times a week & I brainstorm for a few minutes. However, this week has been CRAZY, so I really didn’t even think of it until 10pm last night as I passed out into dreamland.

The other week I was reading a raw food diet book. No, I do not plan on becoming a raw foodist, that is way too restrictive. Honestly, I like to indulge and I like to heat food. However, it did have some good green smoothie recipes, which is a huge part of being a raw foodist. It is seriously the best creation ever with so many options & you can experiment however you want.  Having one green smoothie a day takes care of about 3-4 servings of fruit/veggies. AWESOME. I will share these 2 new ones I found with you today.

#1 – 2 bananas / 1 orange / 1 cup blueberries / 1/2 cup kale

#2 – 1 cup peaches / 1 cup strawberries / 1 orange / 1/2 cup kale

BONUS (my favorite): 1 cup cilantro, 1 grapefruit, 1 cucumber

  • I’ll have to try the cilantro/grapefruit/cucumber one, I have those around all the time. What book was it that you read?

    • It was The Raw Food Detox Diet by Natalia Rose. It has a nice wordy part, but I was just looking at the recipes in the back!
